RE: Charter & By-Law Review Committee
After our May 2007 Annual Town Meeting our Moderator was charged with appointing the Charter & By-Law Review Committee. Seven volunteers were selected and have been working diligently on task. We have now moved beyond the completion of the initial draft stage.
Considering the significance of these governing documents and how it will shape our community for many years to come, we urge all to participate in these final stages in preparation for the Annual Town Meeting in May 2008. Below please see the schedule and consider your calendar for the next few months. It is our goal to bring a stronger, sustainable and complete document for Town Meeting consideration.
All meetings will be on Thursday at 6:00PM at Town Hall (unless otherwise noted).

Completed initial review of Charter and Bylaws;
Approve invitation letter to public, all boards/officials of our schedule with a deadline of Feb 14, 2008 for this committee to consider any new Charter Articles with proposed language and sponsors.

Complete initial review of all textual, paginate, format, numbering, etc., in short insure each align.
Consider real and then foreseen controversial warrant articles; complete formatting changes and such that the Warrant Articles align for the extra alternatives.

Begin final consideration on the first 1/3 of Charter.
